Mosman Rider

About the Mosman Rider

This free hail-and-ride community bus service operates seven days a week from 8:00am to 6:00pm. The Mosman Rider provides a safe, friendly and convenient travel alternative for residents and visitors to hightail it around Mosman.

Catching the bus couldn’t be easier. It’s as simple as standing kerbside (along the bus route) and signalling the driver. The driver will stop in a convenient but safe location. Board the bus and enjoy your free journey. Inform the driver prior to your intended stop and the driver will pull over so you can alight.

Where is the bus? See the live route map. It shows the current location of the Mosman Rider and, if you authorise the web app, your location as well. You can also SMS 0429 667 616 and get a return text stating when the bus will reach its next waypoint.

The bus tracker system is being trialled for one year from 1 December 2010. It has been developed by Trevor Russell. An app for Android phones is available from the Android Market.

The Mosman Rider promotes active public transport usage. The aim is to reduce Mosman’s environmental footprint as well as reduce traffic congestion throughout the area. The service is proudly provided by Mosman Council.

Where does the Mosman Rider connect with Sydney public transport? At Spit Junction; Military Road and Ourimbah Road; and at Spit and Awaba Roads. Phone 131500 or visit 131500.com for timetables and route planners.
